Understanding
Green Tea Polyphenols
Certain plants such as green tea are composed of a high content of polyphenols which are bioflavonoids that have been shown to have antioxidant properties. Most polyphenols in green tea are commonly known as catechins possessing highly potent antioxidant characteristics. The major preventative catechin in green tea polyphenol is epigallocatechin gallate or (EGCG). Other catechins found in green tea are epigallocatechin (EGC), epicatechin 3-gallate (ECG) and epicatechin (EC). Replenix is a patent-pending formulation composed of 90% polyphenol isolates, derived from green tea with potent antioxidant properties, to assist in minimizing free-radical induced sun damage. |
